Performance
New Subaru Forester SUVs produce up to 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque using a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine. In comparison, the Subaru Forester Hybrid delivers up to 194 total horsepower using a series-parallel hybrid powertrain. By combining a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine and electric motors, the Forester Hybrid provides responsive acceleration on and off the pavement.
Efficiency
While the Subaru Forester is already an impressive choice, the Subaru Forester Hybrid goes one step further with up to an EPA-estimated 34 MPG combined. By switching between gasoline and electric power, the Subaru Forester Hybrid delivers up to an EPA-estimated 35 MPG city and 34 MPG highway compared to the Subaru Forester with an EPA-estimated 26 MPG city and 33 MPG highway. Plus, the Subaru Forester Hybrid delivers an EPA-estimated range of up to 581 miles for trips beyond Lehi.

Capability
Subaru is known for producing vehicles that can conquer changing weather and surfaces. Subaru Forester Hybrid models carry on with this tradition thanks to a mechanically-coupled Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system that delivers iconic stability and traction. Both powertrains provide a standard 8.7 inches of ground clearance, compared to Subaru Forester Wilderness models with up to 9.3 inches of ground clearance and all-terrain tires. Plus, the Subaru Forester Wilderness can tow up to 3,500 pounds, while the Subaru Forester Hybrid can only tow up to 1,500 pounds.
Design
New Subaru Forester SUVs provide a clean aesthetic for your drives around Orem, no matter which powertrain you prefer. Both models include features like LED headlights, cupholders for wide water bottles, and spacious seating for five people. However, the Subaru Forester Premium Hybrid comes with a Power Rear Gate, while the Forester Premium requires drivers to choose an optional package. At the top end of the lineup, both models offer heated and ventilated front seats, leather-trimmed seats, and up to 69.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

Safety
Thanks to the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology suite, the Subaru Forester and Subaru Forester both provide standard Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Automatic Emergency Steering, and more. However, the Subaru Forester Premium Hybrid includes Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which is optional for the Forester Premium.
Technology
One area where the Subaru Forester Hybrid exceeds expectations is technology. While the Subaru Forester Premium has an 11.6-inch Subaru Multimedia Plus System, the Forester Premium Hybrid adds integrated navigation. Subaru Forester Hybrid models also deliver an exclusive 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. In addition, the Subaru Forester Sport Hybrid and higher trims come with a standard 11-speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Audio System, which is optional for gas-only Forester Sport and Limited models.

Trim Options
While the Subaru Forester and Subaru Forester Hybrid are part of the same family, standard features may vary depending on your preferred powertrain. If you're interested in comparing similar trims side-by-side, we'll be happy to provide hands-on experience.
