2027 Subaru Ascent Trims, pricing, towing and specs for the three-row SUV.
Every 2027 Ascent seats seven or eight, has all-wheel drive and tows up to 5,000 lb. Here are its five trims and prices, the full specs and how it compares with three rivals.

- Starting MSRP*, Premium
- $40,795
- 2.4L turbo boxer, every trim
- 260 hp
- Towing, every trim
- 5,000 lb
- Ground clearance
- 8.7 in
- Seats, three rows
- 7 or 8

Why the Ascent. Room for eight, with all-wheel drive and a tow rating to match.
The Ascent is 196.8 inches long. Behind its third row there is 17.8 cu ft of cargo space, and folding both rear rows opens up 75.6 cu ft.
Inside are 19 cupholders, USB-A and USB-C ports for all three rows, and a power rear gate with automatic close on every trim.
Seven or eight seats
The Premium and Limited offer second-row captain's chairs or a bench, and the third row splits 60/40 on every trim.
All-wheel drive as standard
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-MODE with Hill Descent Control come on the $40,795 Premium and every trim above it.
5,000-lb towing
Each trim carries the same tow rating, and Trailer Stability Assist is standard to help manage trailer sway.
8.7 inches of clearance
That is more ground clearance than the Highlander, Pathfinder or Pilot, measured on each maker's published figures.
What changed for 2027.
The 2027 updates are about color and convenience. Every trim keeps the 260-hp turbocharged boxer engine, standard all-wheel drive and the 5,000-lb tow rating.

Color
Deepwater Blue Pearl. A new paint offered only on the Ascent, alongside Daybreak Blue Pearl, which is new to the Ascent's color list.
Cabin
An interior light off switch. One touch stops the cabin lights from coming on when a door opens, so sleeping passengers in back stay asleep.
Cargo
LED rear gate light. The Limited and every trim above it gain a light on the open rear gate that brightens the cargo area at night.
Charging
USB-C in the third row. USB-C ports now sit beside the USB-A outlets near the third-row seats, behind protective covers.

Exterior. Five trims, four wheel finishes.
The Premium wears 18-inch black alloys, black exterior trim and black mirrors, with LED fog lights. The Limited and Touring move to 20-inch dark gray machined alloys, and the Limited adds chrome lower door cladding and power-folding mirrors.
Two editions change the look: the Limited Bronze Edition with bronze 20-inch wheels and bronze grille and cladding accents, and the Onyx Edition Touring with black 20-inch wheels, a gloss-black grille and black window trim.
- LED steering-responsive headlights with High Beam Assist on every trim
- Raised roof rails rated for 700 lb parked and 176 lb on the move
- Panoramic power moonroof from the Limited up

Performance. A turbocharged boxer engine and all-wheel drive.
Peak torque arrives at 2,000 rpm and holds to 4,800 rpm. The engine runs on regular 87-octane fuel and drives through a CVT with an 8-speed manual mode and paddle shifters.
Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive works with Active Torque Vectoring and X-MODE with Hill Descent Control. Limited and Touring trims add X-MODE's Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings.
- 260 hp and 277 lb-ft from a 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer four
- Up to 5,000 lb towing, with Trailer Stability Assist
- 19 city and 26 highway mpg on the Premium (EPA)

Interior. Three rows and an 11.6-inch touchscreen.
The Premium seats its passengers on black StarTex with an 8-way power driver's seat. The Limited switches to leather-trimmed seats, heats the outboard second-row seats and adds a 14-speaker Harman Kardon system and navigation.
Touring trims bring perforated Nappa leather-trimmed seats with ventilated fronts, ambient lighting and a 120-volt outlet in the cargo area.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on every trim
- Tri-zone climate control, with vents for all three rows
- Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as standard
Seating. Seven seats or eight.
The Premium and Limited come either way at the same price. The Limited Bronze Edition, Touring and Onyx Edition Touring seat seven.
Both layouts keep a 60/40-split third row and USB-A and USB-C ports in every row. The team at Doug Smith Subaru in American Fork can walk you through the two.
